The sea is our shared heritage. Our sea routes are the lifeline of international trade,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister went on to add that the sea is facing challenges on multiple fronts. “Sea routes are being misused for piracy and terrorism,” PM Modi said
He also mentioned that there are maritime disputes between many nations and climate change, too, is linked to the maritime domain.
During his address, the Prime Minister also referred to India’s ‘Deep Ocean Mission’ and several other initiatives to promote sustainable fishing.
